Overview
Dynorphin A (1-13) is the N-terminal 13-amino-acid fragment of Dynorphin A that retains full kappa-opioid receptor (KOR) agonist activity. Dynorphin is the primary endogenous KOR agonist & mediates stress-induced dysphoria, aversive states, & pain in the context of chronic stress. KOR antagonists are under active development for depression & addiction. Dynorphin itself is a research tool for KOR pharmacology.
