Overview

Kisspeptin-10 is the bioactive C-terminal decapeptide of the full 54-amino-acid kisspeptin precursor. Kisspeptin neurons in the hypothalamic KNDy (kisspeptin/neurokinin B/dynorphin) circuit act as the master regulator of GnRH pulse generation. Without kisspeptin signaling (KISS1R mutations), puberty does not occur.

Kisspeptin-10 is used in clinical research to trigger LH pulses for fertility diagnosis & treatment, & has been studied as an alternative to hCG for triggering ovulation in IVF (potentially reducing OHSS risk). It has a very short half-life & is not suitable for daily injection-based use without modification.

Research use. 0.3–10 nmol/kg IV for LH stimulation testing. Self-administration protocols use 1–6.4 nmol/kg SubQ.

GonadorelinSynergistic

Both act upstream of LH release (kisspeptin drives GnRH; GnRH drives LH). Kisspeptin is the physiological stimulus for GnRH in the KNDy circuit.
