Kisspeptin-54

GnRH Pulse Generator / Reproductive Peptide

Also known as: KP-54 · Metastin

The full-length 54-amino-acid kisspeptin precursor with longer half-life & sustained GnRH-stimulating activity. The endogenous form used in human fertility & HPG axis research.

Typical Dose

0.24–9.6 nmol/kg/h IV infusion (research)

Route

Intravenous infusion (research)

Cycle

Hours (infusion studies)

Half-life

~28 minutes (longer than KP-10 in practice due to N-terminal protection)

Storage

Lyophilized: 2–8°C.

Overview

Kisspeptin-54 is the predominant form of kisspeptin in human circulation, produced from the KISS1 gene product. It has a longer half-life than KP-10 or KP-13 due to greater resistance to peptidase degradation at the N-terminus. In human studies, IV KP-54 produces sustained LH pulsatility for hours, making it more suitable for studying fertility restoration in hypothalamic amenorrhea.

Quick Start Guide

1

Research use. 0.24–9.6 nmol/kg/h IV infusion for LH pulse studies.

Research Indications

Hypothalamic amenorrhea / fertility

Effective

8-hour pulsatile KP-54 infusions restored LH pulsatility & induced follicular development in women with hypothalamic amenorrhea in Phase II trials.

Side Effects & Safety

Common

  • LH surge
  • Flushing

When to Stop

  • Signs of allergic reaction

How to Reconstitute

1

Research reconstitution in sterile saline for IV use.

Dosing math: IV infusion for research; not typically used as SubQ peptide.

Quality Indicators

Good — use as normal

  • Clear solution

Discard immediately

  • Particulate
